The Physiological Control Laboratory focuses on modeling physiological feedback mechanisms, particularly those active in the cardiovascular system in health and in disease, on developing mechanical circulatory systems, and on designing numerical and bench-top cardiovascular mock circuits as device testing platforms. Strong emphasis is placed on providing theoretical and practical education, particularly at the undergraduate level, within a large spectrum of topics ranging from basic engineering principles to systems analogy, from modeling and simulation to optimum control systems.
